Named for a town that no longer exists.

Harvester Hill Equestrian is a cross country field and show grounds outside Hockley, Texas — built by riders, for riders, on land with a longer story than the fences standing on it today.

Our Story

Ground with history.

Harvester Hill takes its name from Harvester, a small community that thrived briefly in the late 19th century before being absorbed into the towns around it. The town is gone, but it is still remembered locally — including for the legend known as the Hockley Horror. Although Harvester no longer exists, the jump field occupies the sloping land that was once its center.

This land has been in the Burman family since 1981, known as Harvester Hill Ranch. In 2025, the equestrian chapter began in earnest.

How We Got Here

From Windchase dreams to Meadow Creek timber.

Heather grew up riding with her aunt, Olympic equestrian Phyllis Dawson, and dreamed of creating jump fields like those she experienced at Phyllis’s farm, Windchase. Heather and her husband Rick worked to make that dream real — with the purchase of Meadow Creek’s entire cross country course, a great deal of help from the local eventing community, and no small amount of sweat and diesel.

Harvester Hill Equestrian opened for schooling in October 2025. The goal is simple and steady: provide a welcoming environment for equestrians and their horses to play, grow, and enjoy the sport we all love. Facilities will improve each year. What started as a cross country schooling field is evolving into a show grounds and training home for horses and riders of every level.

Find the Field

The gate has no address — so we’ll drop a pin.

Harvester Hill sits on Glass Road outside Hockley. The field entrance itself isn’t addressed, so we point riders to the exact gate with a map pin rather than street directions alone. Once you book schooling, a show, or a clinic, you’ll receive the pin and arrival notes.
